    The Gratitude Attitude
    When was the last time you and your family simply gave thanks in prayer?

    Contentment Is an Inside Job - Neil Clark Warren
    Contentment has everything to do with what's going on inside you.

    Set screen What's Success?

    If by Rudyard Kipling

    If you can keep your head when all about you
    are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
    If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too:
    If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
    Or being hated don't give way to hating,
    And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

    If you can dream---and not make dreams your master;
    If you can think---and not make thoughts your aim,
    If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
    And treat those two impostors just the same:.
    If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
    Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
    And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools;

    If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
    And lose, and start again at your beginnings,
    And never breathe a word about your loss:
    If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
    And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

    If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    Or walk with Kings---nor lose the common touch,
    If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
    If all men count with you, but none too much:
    If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
    Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
    And---which is more---you'll be a Man, my son!

    “Success is how high you bounce off the bottom.” —George S. Patton, Jr.

    Set screen Anyway

      People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered.
      Work with them anyway.

      If you do good, people may accuse you of selfish motives.
      Do good anyway.

      If you are successful, you may win false friends and true enemies.
      Succeed anyway.

      The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow.
      Do good anyway.

      Honesty and transparency make you vulnerable.
      Be honest and transparent anyway.

      What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
      Build anyway.

      People who really want help may attack you if you help them.
      Help them anyway.

      Give the world the best you have and you may get hurt.
      Give the world your best anyway.

      Adapted from copyright Kent M. Keith 1968, 2001 (but often incorrectly ascribed to Mother Teresa of Calcutta because she put them up on the wall of her children's home in Calcutta,)

    Set screen "Keep Playing"

    When the house lights dimmed and the concert was about to begin, the mother returned to her seat and discovered that the child was missing. Suddenly, the curtains parted and spotlights focused on the impressive Steinway on stage.

    In horror, the mother saw her little boy sitting at the keyboard, innocently picking out "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." At that moment, the great piano master made his entrance, quickly moved to the piano, and whispered in the boy's ear, "Don't quit. Keep playing."

    Then, leaning over, Paderewski reached down with his left hand and began filling in a bass part. Soon his right arm reached around to the other side of the child and he added a running obbligato. Together, the old master and the young novice transformed a frightening situation into a wonderfully creative experience. And the audience was mesmerized.

    The lesson: Whatever our situation in life and history-however outrageous, however desperate, whatever dry spell of the spirit, whatever dark night of the soul-God is whispering deep within our beings, "Don't quit. Keep playing. You are not alone. Together we will transform your small efforts into a masterwork of My creative art. Together, we will mesmerize the world."
